During a visit to the Germantown Fire Department, the Helpful Home Inspector spoke with his uncle about some fire safety tips. What are the most common reasons for house fires? How can a homeowner minimize damage to a potential fire? Do you have a family fire safety plan? If not, we share tips on what to consider when setting up a family fire safety plan. Smoke detectors are the #1 warning system a home can have during a house fire. Take the time to check your smoke detectors which could save your life. Also we discuss security and sprinkler systems with rental and commercial properties. If there is a false alarm, the fire department will still come onsite to verify everything is okay with your home.
